In 2010, a stage adaptation of American Idiot debuted on Broadway. The new album, titled 21st Century Breakdown , was released on May 15, 2009. The album had mainly positive reception from critics, getting an average rates between 4 and 5 stars. After the release, the album hit #1 in fourteen countries. 21st Century Breakdown achieved Green Day’s best chart performance to date. And also the new album of Green Day called Awesome as F**k was released on March 22, 2011 through Reprise Records. The album is composed of tracks recorded during Green Day's 2009–2010 21st Century Breakdown World Tour in support of their eighth studio album 21st Century Breakdown.

After listened to all their albums, I just can’t wait to watch their live performance. I hope soon Green Day will come to Indonesia again and I will be in the front row watching them ;)

Lady Gaga vs Front Pembela Islam (FPI)

American Idol Top 3

As we all know the American Idol top 3 finalists are Jessica Sanchez, Joshua Ledet and Phillip Phillips. But who’s going out? And who are going to be the top 2? Let’s find out.

Joshua Ledet is the first contestant called to center stage. He sang “I’d Rather Be Blind” and the judges said that Joshua doing well, R&B scat that brings down the house. And I think he’s going to be predictable as in predictably good. And the second song is “Imagine” by John Lennon. The judges said that he was overblown and over-emotional. And the third song he’s going to sing is “No More Drama”. When he sang this song he gets a little jumpy during the chorus and the judges said that it didn’t have enough melody.

Next is Jessica Sanchez. Her first song is “My All” by Mariah Carey which I think is a perfect selection. But Jimmy says it wasn’t enough of a shock and awe moment. The second song is “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing”. Well of course Steven Tyler gives her standing ovation. The last song is “I’ll be There” by The Jackson 5 and the judges says it really works. Her voices is soar and she looks and sounds like a star

And the last one is Phillip Phillips. He sang “Beggin” and Jimmy says it was entertaining and fun. And second song is “Disease” but the judges says that the song was too easy. And the third song he’s going to sing is “We’ve Got Tonight”. And yes, he gets standing ovation from the judges. Randy said that it was his best song of the season. Good job Phillip!

And this is the moment that we’ve been waiting for. After the final commercial break, it’s time to find out the results. The first person get in the Top 2 is…..Jessica Sanchez, and the second person is…… Phillip Phillips. And it means that Joshua is going home.

Movie Review: The Vow

Have you guys watched The Vow? The Vow is one of my favorite romantic drama films, starring Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum. The story tells about the struggles of a man trying to survive when his wife lost all her memories after the car accident that they have been through. The Vow is actually based on the actual relationship of Kim and Krickitt Carpenter, who wrote a book about their marriage, also known as The Vow.

Like the other romantic drama films, The Vow story begin when Leo (Tatum) meet Paige (McAdams). They like each other, and the relationship between Leo and Paige went well and finally they decided to get married. However, the wonderful story of their marriage didn’t last long. Not long after they married, they had a car accident. Luckily, Leo didn’t have severe injuries. But unfortunately Paige had brain trauma which erased memories of her romance with Leo as well as they recent marriage.

Leo had promise to be faithful in whatever condition he might through with Paige, Leo determined to take care of Paige until she get her memories back. But of course, it’s not easy. Paige’s parent (Bill and Rita) came and tried to take Paige away with a reason that it would be better to get back to her family. At the same time, Paige’s memories is still retained that she loved Jeremy, her ex when she was in college.

Leo had tried so many ways to make Paige fall in love to Leo again but it didn’t work out. And in the afternoon at the store, she meets an old friend who, unaware of her amnesia, apologizes for having had a relationship with Paige's dad, thus alerting Paige as to why she had left her family. When she confronts her mother about this, Rita tells her that she decided to stay with Bill for all the things he had done right instead of leaving him for one wrong act. Paige then asks Leo why he never told her, and he replies he wanted to earn her love instead of driving her away from her parents.

As seasons change, Leo, in a voiceover, talks about "moments of impact and ripple effects where some particles are brought closer and some are spun off into great adventures". Back in her room, Paige finds the menu card on which she had written her vow and is deeply moved. The movie ends with Paige waiting for Leo at their regular Cafe Mnemonic and going with him to try a new place instead of their regular alternative, a Cuban place.

My memorable event at Java Jazz Festival

Java Jazz Festival (JJF) is the biggest jazz music event held every year. This event was held on March 2nd-4th, 2012 by Java Festival Production (JFP). JJF this year was the best show among the other years, because they brought Stevie Wonder, Dave Koz, D’sound, Mamas Gun, and many more.
At Java Jazz Festival this year, I would be one of the volunteers to help monitoring some of the artists in the interview room. I was so excited because I could meet the artists who would be interviewed by media. There were four interview sessions in the Interview room. I would  be in charge to coordinate the interviewing session on the set 3.

The first day of Java Jazz Festival 2012, my boss gave me the list of the interview sessions. I had a schedule to arrange the interview of D’sound. D’sound is an International group band from Norway. So my duty was to call the media. 2 hours before the interview, I had to call the media to stand by 30 minutes before the interview sessions. There were two types of media; TV/Radio media and online/magazine media. Sometimes it was hard to handle the media, because they demanded a lot of things. The hardest media to handle was Berita Satu, I really hated them. When the interview sessions begun, the first media who came to the interview room would get the first interview session. Day 1 finally done, I didn’t have any issues in handling the media at D’sound’s interview session. And the best part was I got a chance to take a picture with them, yeay lucky me. After my duty was done, I watched D’sound, Raissa, and Depapepe performances.

On the second day of Java Jazz Festival 2012, I came earlier to JIEXPO. I decided to take a look around JIEXPO. There were a lot of booths there so I took a picture myself at Rolling Stone and wall of fame booth. After I finished taking some pictures, I came to the interview room and as usual my boss gave me the list of the interview sessions. And this time I was really surprised and excited. I got a schedule to arrange the interview for Mamas Gun. I knew a few songs of them so I was really excited. There were 10 media scheduled to interview Mamas Gun on that day, so I called media crews and all of them were answering the phone and they told me that they were ready to stand by 30 minutes before the interview sessions. The time finally came for the interview session, all the media were already here. I just couldn’t imagine how hectic the situation was, because at the same time there were three interview sessions in the same interview room. So here the Mamas Gun came, they looked so COOL and so British. Finally, one by one the media from the TV, radio, and magazine finished interviewing Mamas Gun. However, unfortunately I couldn’t  take a picture of them with me, because my boss was there. I was so upset and disappointed, but what else I could do.

On the third day of Java Jazz Festival 2012, I thought there would be no more interview sessions, but I was wrong. In fact, I got a schedule to coordinate the interview sessions for Mayer Hawthrone and Kotak. There were two interview sessions in one day, so I had to work hard on this final day. I came to JIEXPO at 2 o’clock and had to wait until 4 o’clock to call all the media. As I was waiting in the interview room with two of my friends, suddenly there was someone opening the door and it was my favorite band; Mamas Gun. They came in to the room and said, “Hi” to me, and I was so excited, I was screaming like a crazy girl. They told me that they wanted to use this room to have rehearsal before performing. And then they played acoustically their famous song called “Pots of Gold”. When they had done with their rehearsal, eventually I got a chance to take a picture with them. Yeayyyy I was so happy. And back to work, after Mamas Gun left I had to call the media to interview the Mayer Hawthrone and Kotak. After the interview sessions, suddenly my boyfriend showed up and then we watched all of the artist performances.

From all of the events that I’ve volunteered so far, Java Jazz Festival 2012 was the best event of all. And I was so glad that they were hiring me to monitor the interview room.
